Across the globe, humans race and compete with each other to develop new technologies for a better, easier way of life. Throughout time technological evolution has changed how people think, behave, and communicate. Consciously or not, we are either controlling or being controlled by a silent but ubiquitous digital robotic system present in our lives today.
Through this dynamic, my artwork interprets and expresses our mutating human character as mechano-robotic monsters and/or Earth aliens building a neo techno-global civilization.

Anas Etan is a contemporary artist, his artistic foundation is inner experience, imaginary, and surrealistic. His signature consists of wild sometimes rhythmic lines following absurd forms as if giving off vibrations in a play of symbols and hidden characters.
In addition to being an artist, he is also an independent graphic designer and illustrator.
Anas was born in East Java, Indonesia (1976), and graduated from the Surabaya Fine Arts School in 1995. After that, he began to wander while learning from one art community to another. In 1998 Anas moved to Ubud, Bali—a village internationally known as the center of traditional and contemporary art. During this time, he focused on his artwork as a means to express his inner experience of his new environment and culture.
While in Bali, Anas started Kaleboe, a collective art studio. From here Anas began to participate in several group exhibitions based in Indonesia, and abroad such as in the Netherlands dan Malaysia. Anas’ work has also been included in the Masterpiece and Borobudur Art Auction, Contemporary Southeast Asian Art catalogs, as well as private collections in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
In 2009 Anas began BLEDOG Art Space with two enthusiastic Balinese architects and an another Javanese artist to give local and international artists from Ubud's growing community a chance to exhibit cutting edge, non-commercially based artwork.
In 2012 Anas relocated to Southern California, eventually moving to Oakland in 2018—where he is fusing a new perspective of his art through the lens of local underground electronic music culture.
